Federation Internationale de Football Association 18 Confirmed For Nintendo Switch - Possible September launch

Darnell ReidFeb 08, 2017

In an interview with Game Reactor, EA's Peter Moore confirmed that the company's Vancouver studio will handle development of Federation Internationale de Football Association 18 for Nintendo's Switch console (via Nintendo Life).

In the interview with Time, the Nintendo director and the producer of Switch have also stated that they met several third party developers and have done a presentation of the device directly.

Moore also said that "FIFA 18" will be released later this year.

"For our previous game platforms, creating our own development tools was a high priority for us", says Nintendo exec Shinya Takahashi.

Hopefully, this will ensure that the console delivers on the promise from Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime's that the Switch would not suffer from the same problems as the NES Classic Edition supply issues. Nintendo Switch aired it's big Super Bowl commercial live to the public before the 4th Quarter, and it had people really excited.

Speaking recently to Gamereactor, EA chief competition officer Peter Moore shared some interesting details about the new game.

What do you think of the comments made about the Nintendo Switch and its support of third-party titles?

With this in mind, the "custom-built version" of Federation Internationale de Football Association 18 for Switch may well end up using the FUT15 Engine instead, but we'll have to wait until closer to launch to see what EA's exact plans are. Nintendo aspires for the Nintendo Switch to offer a system that can bridge these two and offer a steady system that the player is constantly using, according to Koizumi. "As a result, even companies with only a few developers have already started making games for Nintendo Switch". The Nintendo Switch lineup looks a lot more beefier now.

Fans can only wait for an official showcase of "FIFA 18" for Switch from EA to know it compares to its predecessors. They've ensured the Switch's compatibility with the Unreal engine as well as Unity.
