South Kitsap School District has made a decision to release students two hours early Thursday. Let's see how the forecast models and data evolve! "Actual snow fall will depend on how quickly the snow changes to rain". However, since the snow bands have yet to set up and will be narrow with rather sharp edges, it's hard to say exactly which cities and towns will get the most snow. An area of low pressure - a common Pacific storm - moving up the Northwest coast will be the player. If the storm ends up being weaker, we still expect 2 to 5 inches. Some forecast models point to that but not all. Partly sunny, with a high near 32.

The the lowlands would turn to rain by Thursday night except the far north.

You will notice the cold this weekend for sure.

Carlie Buccola, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, said the chance of snow will begin on Sunday night and will continue into Monday morning.

The warning is in effect from 6 a.m.to 4 p.m. for Thursday, December 8.

The National Weather Service calls for afternoon scattered snow showers Friday with a high mark of 32 degrees and wind gusts as high as 18 miles per hour.
